Zitro has appointed Michael Bauer as CEO of Zitro Digital, placing him in charge of the supplier’s online strategy and operations as it accelerates growth in the digital casino segment.
Bauer brings more than a decade of senior leadership experience in regulated online gaming, with a background spanning product development, revenue growth and international market expansion.
In his new role, he will oversee the strategic direction of Zitro Digital as the company seeks to build on its established land-based presence by scaling its online business.
Prior to joining Zitro, Bauer was a prominent figure at Greentube, where he held senior leadership roles in recent years and was closely associated with the supplier’s digital expansion strategy.
He also appeared frequently on the Global Gaming Insider Huddle, contributing to industry discussions around regulated market growth, product strategy and supplier-operator dynamics.
The appointment comes at a time when Zitro is increasing its focus on digital channels, following years of expansion across land-based casino markets globally.
The supplier said Bauer’s experience in building and scaling online operations across multiple jurisdictions aligns with its ambitions to replicate its land-based success in the online environment.
Bauer said: “Zitro has built a strong position as a market leader in land-based casinos worldwide and I strongly believe we can replicate that success online.”
Johnny Ortiz, Founder of Zitro, said Bauer’s appointment marks an important step for the business.
Ortiz commented: “Michael is a key addition to our leadership team at an important moment for Zitro Digital. His proven track record in growing online gaming operations aligns perfectly with our goals in the digital market.”
Zitro confirmed that Bauer will formally lead the digital division at ICE Barcelona, where the supplier plans to showcase its online portfolio and outline its digital roadmap for 2026.
The event is expected to serve as a launch point for Zitro Digital’s next phase of development.
The leadership change follows a broader period of strategic positioning for Zitro as it increases its engagement with regulatory bodies and industry groups, particularly in North America and Europe.
In December 2025, Zitro became the newest member of the American Gaming Association, a move the supplier said reflected its expanding footprint across US gaming markets and its intention to play a more active role in regulatory and policy discussions.
Zitro operates in more than 50 countries globally and has continued to strengthen its regulatory and institutional presence, including recent appointments focused on compliance and certifications in European markets
