Playnetic has appointed Kai Botha as CCO, placing the gaming industry veteran in charge of the supplier's Business Development and Account Management operations as it scales its presence across regulated markets.

The appointment comes days after Playnetic named David Mann as CEO, signaling a strategic restructuring of the company's leadership team as it enters its third year of operations.

Botha's first day with Playnetic will coincide with ICE Barcelona, giving him immediate exposure to the company's operator partners and the broader industry at one of gaming's most significant annual events.

He brings substantial experience in commercial leadership within the B2B gaming sector. Most recently, he served as Commercial Director at Kalamba Games for nearly three years, where he was responsible for building long-term partnerships and implementing data-driven business strategies.

Prior to Kalamba, Botha held senior roles at Skywind Group, where he served as Head of Growth and Strategy from March 2021 to November 2022. In that position, he managed bespoke and network promotion campaigns across multiple markets, including cash race tournaments, prize drops, free spins and marketing initiatives.

His background also includes experience in product marketing and games marketing, having worked at Microgaming as Games Marketing Manager from June 2019 to September 2020, where he developed and executed B2B digital marketing strategies for the supplier's slot game content.

The appointment follows the departure of Julian Borg-Barthet, who had served as Playnetic's CCO since the company's launch. Borg-Barthet joined Playnetic in late 2023 from Lady Luck Games and was instrumental in establishing the supplier's early commercial partnerships and market entry strategy.

Under Borg-Barthet's commercial leadership, Playnetic secured key distribution deals with major aggregators, including Hub88, LuckyStreak, and Reevo, while obtaining licenses in Malta, Sweden, Romania, Greece, and Ontario.

Botha commented: "I'm excited to be joining Playnetic at such a pivotal time for the company. We have a fantastic customer base, and I'm looking forward to working with our partners to provide them with our exceptional innovative gaming content."

He added: "ICE Barcelona is a great opportunity to meet with our customers to talk through our next phase of growth and plans for 2026!"

The leadership transition positions Botha to build on Playnetic's established commercial foundation as the supplier accelerates its growth trajectory. The company has launched over 40 new games since its market debut at ICE London 2024, alongside a library of more than 100 historical titles from its three in-house game studios.

The supplier, which launched in January 2024, has positioned itself as an immersive iGaming supplier focused on quality games, dedicated customer service, and reliable delivery to operator partners across regulated markets.
