Birches Health has appointed Andrew DiGiacomo as its new SVP of Strategy during a “pivotal moment” for the organization as it “deepens” payor partnerships to expand insurance-covered access to gambling addiction treatment across the US.
"Health plans are increasingly focused on expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction care, yet many providers were not designed to operate at national scale or align with today's network standards," DiGiacomo said.
"Birches was built for that environment from day one—pairing deep clinical expertise with the infrastructure health plans need to expand access thoughtfully, consistently, and in a way that supports measurable clinical outcomes, continuity of care and long-term partnership with providers."
DiGiacomo previously served as National Provider Network Contract Innovation Director for Cigna-Evernorth Health Services, having overseen the network’s strategy and future direction while partnering with behavioral care entities to improve innovation and outcomes.
Prior to joining Cigna-Evernorth, DiGiacomo served in leadership roles for Henry Schein, Beacon Health Options and The Boston Consulting Group.
"Andrew is an incredibly forward-thinking innovator, who has the determination and vision to focus on scaling access to evidence-based, specialized care," Birches Health Founder and CEO Elliott Rapaport said.
"Andrew brings the strategic and operational experience Birches Health needs at this pivotal moment of growth for Americans at-risk of digital addiction nationally."
During his tenure with Cigna-Evernorth, DiGiacomo also led contract innovation and market management to help advance measurement-based care which minimizes the administrative burden of suppliers.
According to Birches Health, 85% of its clients showed improvement for gambling-related disorder symptoms based on analysis conducted in late 2025, while 68% experienced "clinically meaningful reductions” in anxiety.
