Brazilian influencer Eduardo Felipe Campelo returned to the country after spending months in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, where he was briefly detained following his inclusion on Interpol’s wanted list.

Campelo is under investigation for allegedly promoting illegal betting platforms linked to Fortune Tiger, a game that is very popular among Brazilian influencers.

The case dates back to 2023, when the Civil Police of Paraná, a Brazilian state, began investigating Campelo for suspected crimes related to the promotion of unlicensed gambling platforms.

According to authorities, the influencer is believed to have moved approximately BR8.5m through the activity.

In 2024, Campelo left Brazil without judicial authorization and was subsequently considered a fugitive.

He was later detained in Dubai while the Paraná judiciary sought his extradition.

At the time of his departure, Campelo had more than 100,000 followers on social media, where he frequently shared content portraying a lifestyle of luxury and ostentation.

On 9 December 2025, Judge Ana Carolina Bartolamei Ramos ruled that there were no longer sufficient grounds to maintain Campelo’s preventive detention.

The decision mentioned several factors, including the fact that he is a first-time offender, that the alleged crimes did not involve violence or threats and that the case is nearing its final stage, with only closing arguments still pending.

The court accepted this position and ordered a series of conditions, including Campelo’s mandatory return to Brazil, surrender of his passport, prohibition on leaving the country without judicial authorization, periodic appearances before the court and the obligation to keep his address updated.

Campelo will respond in freedom to charges that include fraud, electronic fraud, crimes against the popular economy and criminal association.
