Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has bolstered its property portfolio with the addition of four new casino resort venues.
The deal was struck with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, with the highest profile property being the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant, the Tribe’s flagship resort.
The agreement also includes Choctaw Landing Casino and Resort in Hochatown, a venue in Pocola and one in Grant.
There are seven Choctaw resorts in Oklahoma in total and the Durant flagship property features three casinos and three hotels – it is also part of the World Series of Poker tour.
Geoff Ballotti is the President and CEO of Wyndham and he commented: “This aspirational affiliation represents everything today's travelers are asking for – exciting destinations, distinctive experiences and more meaningful ways to connect with the places they love.”
Chief Gary Batton echoed Ballotti’s positivity about striking the deal, reiterating the benefits it creates for the Choctaw Nation he leads, saying: “For Choctaw tribal members, it strengthens long-term economic sustainability – creating new career pathways, professional development opportunities and reinvestment into tribal programs and communities.
He continued: “It is a strategic step that honors our values while positioning Choctaw for continued growth on a global stage.”
All four venues will now fall under the umbrella of Wyndham’s ‘Trademark Collection’ and will soon be integrated into Wyndham’s own booking channels.
Together they represent nearly 2,000 rooms and Ballotti has highlighted the value that Wyndham feels it has extracted from this deal, suggesting that: “By welcoming Choctaw's remarkable casinos and resorts to Wyndham, we're expanding what our brands and our Wyndham Rewards program can offer, giving more than 120 million enrolled members access to a powerful new collection of entertainment-driven getaways across one of the country's fastest-growing gaming markets."
