Argentina: Neuquén gaming regulator expands public engagement at provincial festival
Key Points
IJAN participated in the Fiesta de la Confluencia with on site activities and prize raffles aimed at increasing public visibility and engagement
The initiative reflects a broader effort by Neuquén’s gaming regulator to strengthen its public presence beyond its core regulatory and oversight functions

The Neuquén gaming regulator, in Argentina, took part in the most recent edition of the Fiesta de la Confluencia, where it organized a series of raffles offering high-value prizes to attendees.

The initiative formed part of a broader institutional presence aimed at connecting with the local community during the multi-day festival held in the city of Neuquén.

According to the regulator, IJAN, the prizes awarded throughout the event included vehicles and motorcycles, with drawings carried out across several days. The raffles were open to festivalgoers who completed registration requirements at the IJAN stand, which was set up within the event grounds.

The regulator stated that the initiative sought to promote participation while reinforcing its role as a public institution within the province.

IJAN’s presence at the festival was coordinated with provincial authorities and event organizers, reflecting an effort to integrate the gaming regulator into broader cultural and social activities in Neuquén.

The Fiesta de la Confluencia is one of the largest public events in Patagonia, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors and featuring musical performances, food vendors and local exhibitions.

The regulator indicated that its participation also served to provide information about its institutional functions, including oversight of gaming activities and the allocation of funds generated by regulated gambling. IJAN is responsible for regulating and supervising gaming operations across Neuquén Province, including casinos, gaming halls and authorized betting activities.

Neuquén has positioned regulated gaming as a contributor to provincial revenue, with funds allocated to public works, health and social programs.

The initiative highlights how provincial gaming regulators in Argentina are increasingly using large-scale public events to engage directly with communities, beyond traditional regulatory and enforcement activities.
