It’s all change at the top of Merkur Dosniha, with CEO, Carlos Chacón, ceding his position to current COO Lara Knuchel and CFO Juanjo Mayol.

Chacón’s replacements at the slots supplier will assume joint responsibility for the CEO duties.

Merkur Dosniha has been the name of the Merkur Group’s Spanish operation since it acquired the Dosniha brand back in 2012.

Long before that, Chacón founded Dosniha and as of 1 February, when he officially steps down, he will have been in charge for 34 years.

His seat on the Board of Directors will be filled by Merkur’s General Manager for the UK, Sascha Blodau.

In this role, Blodau will support the new management in implementing the Merkur Group’s broader expansion strategy while retaining his UK position.

Dominik Raasch is the Management Board Member for Merkur Games and had this to say on the departure: “For more than three decades, Carlos Chacón has played a key role in shaping the development of Merkur Dosniha, successfully building and advancing the company in a dynamic market environment with exceptional commitment, entrepreneurial foresight and great passion.”

Raasch also goes on to reveal that Chacón is due to continue his association with the current team as a Strategic Advisor.

On the pair of new leaders, he said: “Both Lara Knuchel and Juanjo Mayol have years of experience with the company and are experts in their fields. They stand for continuity, management expertise and a strong connection to Merkur Dosniha.”

Looking to the future of Merkur Dosniha, Chacón himself was bullish about the abilities of his successors to drive success, saying: “I am convinced that Merkur Dosniha will continue on its successful path.”
