Scientific Games and the Florida Lottery have reported a record year for scratch-off games, with retail sales reaching $7.093bn in calendar year 2025.

The figure surpasses the previous high of $7.091bn set in 2022 and marks the strongest scratch-off performance in the Lottery’s history.

According to the companies, the results generated more than $1.21bn for the Florida Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, which supports public schools, higher education institutions and the state’s Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

Scratch-Off sales increased by 6.84% year-on-year and accounted for almost 74% of the Florida Lottery’s total annual sales of $9.63bn, underlining the category’s role as the Lottery’s primary revenue driver.

During the year, players claimed more than $5.23bn in scratch-off prizes, while retailers earned approximately $425m in commissions.

Several established game families contributed significantly to the overall performance, including the Gold Rush Multiplier range, which generated $1.29bn in sales and represented over 18% of total Scratch-Off revenue.

Other notable contributors included the Week For Life and Holiday Cash games, alongside higher-value “blowout” titles.

Commenting on the results, Reginald D. Dixon, Florida Lottery Acting Secretary, stated: "We are extremely proud of our partnership with Scientific Games. Our work together continues to achieve high performance for our scratch-off games by using data analytics to inform our game portfolio planning and logistics.

“More than breaking a record, our efforts drove higher contribution to education for Florida's public schools, colleges and universities, as well as the Bright Futures Scholarship Program."

Angela Goodwin, Scientific Games Senior VP of Instant Products, Americas, added: "Scientific Games has served as the exclusive or primary supplier of Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games since the Lottery's inception in 1988. In 1997, our relationship expanded to a full instant game partnership anchored by the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership program.

"We have collaborated closely with the Florida Lottery's team to drive responsible growth with scratch-off games, and our longtime partnership has proven to be highly successful."
