Lotería Chaqueña marked International Responsible Gambling Day on February 17 with a series of outreach activities aimed at promoting legal and responsible gaming across the province.
As part of a national initiative coordinated through ALEA, the Association of State Lotteries of Argentina, the lottery illuminated its three Resistencia offices in green, joined by Casinos Gala and Casinos del Chaco, which also lit up their main venues in support of the campaign.
The coordinated action formed part of a broader effort by Argentina’s provincial lotteries to reinforce responsible gambling messaging under a unified framework.
Lucas Apud Masín, President of Lotería Chaqueña, said: “With the support and leadership of Governor Leandro Zdero, this administration is fully committed to promoting legal, safe and responsible gambling.”
Beyond the symbolic lighting, the lottery announced two public-facing initiatives designed to extend the campaign beyond awareness messaging. On February 25, an informational stand with recreational and educational activities will be set up in downtown Resistencia, providing guidance on prevention tools and responsible play practices.
The initiative will culminate with the first Maratón Juego Responsable with free admission. The race will include a 2km recreational category open to all ages and a 5km competitive category for adults aged 18 and over.
The marathon is being organized in coordination with the Instituto del Deporte Chaqueño, the Municipality of Resistencia and Iprodich, the provincial disability inclusion institute.
Officials said the event is intended to link responsible gambling messaging with broader community participation, positioning prevention as a shared social responsibility rather than solely a regulatory obligation.
International Responsible Gambling Day has been observed every February 17 since 2008
