Sports betting operator Tipico has become the new National Sponsor of Sporthilfe, the German Sports Aid Foundation, further strengthening its presence in the German sports ecosystem.
The partnership is designed to support Germany’s top athletes during critical stages of their careers.
At its core is a dedicated fund that provides tailored assistance to athletes who have already achieved initial success.
Interested athletes can apply through a short application process that includes a video submission.
The programme aims to help athletes achieve sustainable, long-term success.
Karsten Petry, Sporthilfe Board Member for Marketing, Sales, and Events, said: “Together with Tipico, we will help outstanding athletes improve even further – true champions – and thus become the role models of tomorrow.”
Axel Hefer, CEO of Tipico Group, added: “Top athletes impress with their determination, ambition, discipline and perseverance. Supporting them creates an environment where they can achieve maximum success. We are proud to back the best athletes on their road to the top together with Sporthilfe.”
Tipico’s sponsorship complements its existing partnerships across German football, including the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Liga and DFB-Pokal competitions.
With this addition, Sporthilfe’s top-tier partnership level now includes eight partners, marking a milestone in the foundation’s almost 60-year history.
Last month, Tipico joined the European Gaming and Betting Association, expanding the trade body’s representation in Germany and German-speaking markets.
As part of its membership, Tipico will participate in EGBA’s working groups and contribute to initiatives focused on safer gambling, responsible advertising and anti-money laundering standards.
