SiGMA Central Europe in Rome kicks off on 3 November and it has been announced that the President of the European Parliament, the Hon. Roberta Metsola, will be launching proceedings with the opening keynote speech.
The announcement of Metsola's participation comes just a week in advance of the conference, and it will fuel excitement along with the confirmation of an appearance from Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Hon. Antonio Tajani.
Metsola's speech will come on 4 November and be followed by subsequent addresses from Tajani and SiGMA Founder Eman Pulis.
The involvement of two high-ranking European officials will boost the cache of the event, which takes place for the first time in Rome.
Metsola was elected President of the European Parliament in January 2022, becoming the youngest person to achieve this office.
She was then re-elected in July 2024 for another two years, becoming the first woman to be voted in for a second term.
Antonio Tajani began his career as a journalist in the 1980s, eventually moving into European and Italian politics - he co-founded the late Silvio Berlusconi's political party, Forza Italia.
This year the SiGMA conference split into two distinct shows - the first, Euro-Med, took place in Malta during September, with the second, and larger of the two, to be this event in the Eternal City, which is expecting some 30,000 delegates from more than 150 countries.
There will be four stages at the conference with many other influential figures and voices making themselves heard, including the Hon. Federico Freni, Italian Undersecretary of State in the Ministry for Economy and Finance.
