Playtech has launched operations in Connecticut, marking its entry into the sixth regulated iGaming state in the US. The expansion follows the company's Delaware launch late last year and continues its growth trajectory across US regulated markets.
The move strengthens Playtech’s presence in the US, positioning the supplier within a mature but tightly controlled market where online gaming is operated through tribal partnerships. While smaller in scale than leading jurisdictions such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, Connecticut offers a stable regulatory framework and an active player base.
Jonathan Doubilet, GM USA at Playtech, said: “We are thrilled to expand our presence into a sixth US state. Connecticut is a well-established iGaming market with a vast player-base that we anticipate will engage strongly with our first-class offering. It's a source of pride that our most valued partners continue to place trust in us to reach the high standards the US iGaming market demands.”
Playtech provides casino content, live dealer solutions and platform services to operators across multiple jurisdictions. Its expansion into Connecticut reflects a broader trend of suppliers targeting established US markets with defined regulatory structures, even where scale is more limited compared to larger states.
The US iGaming sector remains highly competitive, with international suppliers competing for distribution through a small number of licensed operators. Connecticut’s restricted licensing model, built around tribal gaming partnerships, further concentrates competition and raises the strategic importance of securing operator agreements.
Playtech’s multi-state presence provides diversified exposure across regulated markets, while positioning the company to expand further as additional states consider legalizing online gaming.
