DraftKings has gained regulatory approval from the Oregon Lottery to launch its new DK Replay product across the state, offering users historical betting markets for Major League Baseball (MLB) and generating concern over whether the offering relates to online slot play.

How does DK Replay function?

DK Replay allows DraftKings users to wager pitch-by-pitch on hundreds of thousands of historical plate appearances, presented with an anonymized pitcher versus batter matchup for each bet.

According to DraftKings, both players will either be rated bronze, silver or gold based upon statistics from their careers, such as batting average, earned run average, strikeouts and slugging percentage.

“DK Replay offers a new experience for our customers, allowing them to tap into the excitement of pitch-by-pitch betting in a unique historical environment,” DraftKings CPO Corey Gottlieb said.

“With DK Replay, we’re able to offer an experience that will allow customers to enjoy their favorite sports no matter the time of year.”

Users are then given a “pitch clock” to decide on whether the next pitch will be a ball, strike or hit into the field of play. Once the wager is placed, DraftKings unveils the actual outcome of the pitch, and the bet is either paid out or deemed a loss.

Where do the concerns lie with online slot comparisons?

Original details of the pitching matchup are shown once the bet is completed, but the product has still been compared to gameplay seen on online slot machines due to the randomness in which each wager contains.

While DraftKings provides a rating scale for both the pitcher and batter prior to any wagers being placed, the outcome of each matchup is still randomized based upon hundreds of thousands of different results.

Given DK Replay was authorized by the Oregon Lottery, however, it does not come as a surprise that DraftKings confirmed its “exploring additional state rollouts” for the product.

VSiN to offer prop predictions through Stats Perform collaboration

VSiN, the Sports Betting Network, has partnered with Stats Perform to launch Opta Predictions for MLB, currently available only to VSiN Pro subscribers. Opta Predictions offers access to player and team prop predictions across key markets, providing “objective input” for wagering and fantasy decision-making.

“We integrated Opta Predictions to meet the surge in prop betting. It’s transparent, fast and grounded in trusted data,” VSiN CEO Bill Adee said.

“Stats Perform and Opta are synonymous with high-quality analytics, and we’re excited to bring that standard to NFL, NBA and now MLB prop markets for our highly analytical audience.”

The new prop predictions offering is powered by Opta AI and developed by Stat Perform’s Opta data and predictive modeling.

According to VSiN, the network’s NBA and NFL player prop projections have already produced 700,000 page views since the tools launched in late 2025.

Stats Perform CRO Steve Xeller also commented on the new partnership, having said, “VSiN has expanded our partnership beyond website statistics into live integration of our US Pro Sports predictive feeds across its programming.”

On March 24, VSiN formed a new agreement with the Sports Rap Network to broadcast its live linear programming across the city of Detroit.
