Light & Wonder has launched Elk Studios content in South Africa through operator Hollywoodbets, marking the studio’s entry into the regulated market.
The rollout provides Hollywoodbets players with access to a selection of Elk Studios titles, including Gritty kitty and Tropicool, while Pirots has launched in the country for the first time.
Elk Studios, part of Light & Wonder, has secured certification for more than 30 titles from both the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
Additional titles are expected to be introduced in the coming months, subject to ongoing approvals.
The deployment is supported by Light & Wonder’s Infinity platform, which enables distribution of content through strategic operator partnerships. The initial release has been limited to Hollywoodbets as part of an early-access phase.
Following this period, Elk Studios content is set to become available to other licensed operators across South Africa, expanding its reach within the market.
Light & Wonder stated that the approach allows it to introduce content in a phased manner, working with selected partners before broader distribution. The supplier continues to expand its presence across regulated jurisdictions through its platform infrastructure and studio network.
The South African launch forms part of Light & Wonder’s wider strategy to increase content availability across multiple regions, supported by regulatory approvals and local operator partnerships.
Light & Wonder has continued to expand its operational footprint through system and content agreements. In a separate development, the supplier signed a deal with Deadwood Gulch Gaming Resort and renewed its partnership with Seneca Resorts & Casinos to upgrade gaming systems and deploy new technology across multiple properties.
Elk Studios’ Pirots title has not previously been available in South Africa and is launching in the market for the first time
