MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan has unveiled plans to launch a $65m multi-year initiative, titled Elevate the Escape, to help support job creation and drive continued economic activity across the city.
“MotorCity has always been a place people come to have a great time, and Elevate the Escape represents the next chapter in that story,” MotorCity Casino Hotel GM John Policicchio said.
“We’re building on what guests already love while introducing new experiences that feel vibrant, exciting and designed for how people want to escape and enjoy themselves today.”
The property’s Elevate the Escape initiative is set to feature new enhancements made across its hotel and convention space, food & beverage offerings and casino floor. A full renovation of MotorCity Casino Hotel’s 400 guestrooms and suites will be completed, as well as a transformation of the property’s convention center.
MotorCity Casino Hotel’s gaming floor will see upgrades made to its entrances, finishes and lighting, and recently debuted enhancements such as high-limit gaming, a smoking slot area, a VIP dining lounge and the addition of a FanDuel sportsbook retail facility.
Coinciding with improvements to its casino floor will be the launch of upgraded player loyalty benefits for MotorCity Casino Hotel’s Club Metro loyalty program.
The property confirmed future announcements in regard to individual Elevate the Escape projects will be released upon launch.
On March 10, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported the total casino and retail sports betting activity in Detroit during February 2026, as the gaming types combined to generate $100.6m of revenue and increase 1.8%.
MotorCity Casino reported a February 2026 casino revenue of $29.4m, equating to an increase of 3.3%.
