The Association of Operators of the Entertainment and Event Tourism Industry (AIRIS) has reported that Russia’s gambling zones attracted 602,772 visitors in Q1 2026, a 5.5% year-on-year increase and a new record.
Krasnaya Polyana was the most visited gambling zone, welcoming 251,045 visitors in Q1 2026, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%. The Siberian Coin zone received 195,850 visitors, a 13.5% increase from Q1 2025. The Sobranie casino in the Yantarnaya welcomed 68,755 visitors, a figure broadly in line with last year’s 69,558. Meanwhile, the Tigre de Cristal casino in Primorye received 87,392 visitors, slightly down from 97,329 in Q1 2025, reflecting typical seasonal fluctuations in tourist flow.
Since the beginning of the year, gambling zones have enhanced their entertainment offerings, focusing on concerts and shows featuring popular artists. Furthermore, they hosted gastronomy events, special cultural evenings and sports events.
AIRIS Executive Director Dmitry Anfinogenov stated: “The results of the first quarter show that gambling zones are confidently maintaining their role as key attractions within tourist destinations.
“Demand for short trips and intensive leisure experiences is growing, and the events calendar helps consistently attract visitors throughout the season. For the industry, this is an important indicator of maturity and that the chosen development model is working in practice.”
A new gambling zone may be established in the Altai region, pending regulatory approval.
Lawmakers are also considering legalising online casinos. A Public Chamber official has called for a minimum legal gambling age of 21, the introduction of self-exclusion options and stricter oversight of cryptocurrency use.
