Mohegan has appointed Joe Soper as the operator’s new VP of Sports & Entertainment, where will now be tasked with overseeing all strategy and programming for Mohegan Sun’s entertainment portfolio.
“Joe Soper is a proven leader with invaluable insight and expertise not only as it applies to Mohegan Sun’s Sports & Entertainment, but as it applies throughout our entire enterprise and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to lead one of the most dynamic areas of our business,” Mohegan CMO David Martinelli said.
“His dedication and experience will prove integral to the continued momentum in elevating the future of live entertainment at Mohegan Sun.”
Soper previously served as Corresponding Secretary for the Mohegan Tribal Council since 2019, where he oversaw all correspondence issued by the Council and communicated information directly to Tribal members.
He first began working with the Tribe after joining Mohegan Sun as a Senior Financial Analyst and eventually earned the Director of Sports & Entertainment title.
As Director, Soper helped grow Mohegan Sun Arena into a “decorated” live entertainment venue, while also supporting booking, programming and development initiatives.
In his new role, he was also be looked upon to play a “key role” in strengthening high-impact industry partnerships, including work with organizations such as Live Nation, CAA and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
At the start of 2026, Mohegan announced the appointment of Guy Greene as Chief Marketing Officer for Mohegan Digital shortly after Jennifer Dyer was named Mohegan Director of IT Portfolio Management & Delivery.
Greene began overseeing marketing strategy for Mohegan’s expanding portfolio of iGaming and online sports betting products and also manages teams responsible for performance marketing, brand management, creative services, social media and community engagement initiatives.
Mohegan agreed to sell the Connecticut Sun to the Fertitta family in a deal valued at $300m on March 30, with the WNBA franchise set to relocate from Connecticut to Houston after the 2026 season
