The top eighteen dogs will be revealed tomorrow
This marks a fascinating initiative from the operator

The New Jersey Lottery is preparing a press conference to officially crown “Jersey’s Top Dogs”, following thousands of entries.

Following a rigorous judging process, a total of eighteen dogs have been selected as the “Top Dogs” and will be inaugurated as the first dogs to appear on a New Jersey Lottery Scratch-Off ticket.

A total of fifty dogs representing different breeds, sizes and temperaments will join the official rotation, including the “Top Dogs.”

The New Jersey Lottery described these as “each embodying Jersey’s attitude and spirit.”

The official press conference is scheduled for 29 April, 11am EST, and will include media interviews and photo ops with the dogs.

The press conference will also be attended by New Jersey Lottery executives.

A spokesperson for the New Jersey Lottery said: “The event brings together New Jersey Lottery executives, the winning dogs, and their pet parents for a community-focused celebration of Jersey pride with a special tribute to the state’s most prized canine companions.”

The competition was open to the New Jersey public and invited residents to submit pictures of their pups for a chance to be included in the upcoming Scratch-Off.

This marks a particularly special way for gambling operators to connect with their local communities and engage them in upcoming product launches.

It will be particularly interesting to see how this initiative translates to sales, and whether other global operators will try something similar.

Global Gaming Insider has reached out to the winning dogs for comment. It remains to be seen whether the crowned canines will respond, or whether the fame has pushed them beyond the media's reach.
