The New Jersey Lottery has unveiled the 18 winners of its “Jersey Top Dogs” contest, with each good boy’s photo, name and hometown set to be placed on the organization’s new “Jersey Dog” scratch-off tickets releasing on May 4.
The contest received thousands of submissions but was eventually narrowed down to 50 tail-wagging finalists following a statewide public vote, with the 18 winners selected during a press conference held at Columbus Park in Hoboken, New Jersey on April 29.
“Seeing these real Jersey dogs recognized in person and celebrating them in a fun way on scratch-offs makes this ticket very special,” New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Jim Carey said.
“We’re excited to celebrate community pride, a shared pet connection and our ‘Top Dogs’ with players statewide as we launch the official ‘Jersey Dog’ Scratch-Offs ticket.”
Fellow top vote-getters won’t be leaving with empty paws, however, as each will receive photos and names in the image match portion of the “Jersey Dog” scratch-offs.
According to the New Jersey Lottery, its “Jersey Top Dogs” contest represents the first time residents have been able to provide content for a new scratch-offs launch, as well as the inaugural use of real dog imagery.
Winning names set to be featured on the “Jersey Dog” scratch-off tickets include:
Arlo of Red Bank Ginger of Old Bridge
Bailey of Netcong Goose of Bridgeton
Bear of Hamilton Huck of Piscataway

Global Gaming Insider is still awaiting a final count on how many furry friends were in attendance for the press conference, but luckily it appears no disagreements were barked out once the winners were announced.
