Stake has continued its LatAm expansion after launching its online casino and sportsbook offerings in Mexico, described as one of the region’s “most dynamic and fast-growing” markets by the operator.
“Mexico is an important and exciting market for us – one that combines strong underlying growth with a deep cultural connection to sport, which aligns perfectly with what Stake is built for,” Stake Director Jarrod Febbraio said.
“We’ve built significant momentum across Latin America in recent years, including in markets such as Peru and Colombia, and Mexico represents a natural next step given its scale and long-term potential.”
The operator made its entrance into Mexico through the stake.mx platform, as the launch was said to continue Stake’s focus on “high-value” and regulated jurisdictions across the globe.
Stake was also motivated to launch in Mexico prior to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is set to begin on June 11 and will be co-hosted by the LatAm country.
Febbraio continued: “With Mexico set to co-host the 2026 football World Cup tournament, the timing of this launch reflects our ability to move with precision into high-value markets at the right moment.
“It gives us the opportunity to establish a strong presence ahead of one of the biggest sporting events in the world and deliver a world-class experience for Mexican players.”
Stake will operate in the country under a permit-based structure regulated by Secretaría de Gobernación (SEGOB), Mexico’s Ministry of Interior, which will act as agent under Uno Capali’s license agreement.
In March, Stake appointed former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard as a global ambassador ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The online sportsbook and casino said Hazard will support fan engagement activity across the 2026 football season, with a focus on digital campaigns tied to the tournament this summer.
President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image on April 9 that included branding for Stake, which is currently not licensed to offer online casino gaming or sports betting anywhere in the US
