Brightstar Lottery, along with its Brightstar Global Solutions and Brightstar Lottery Cyprus subsidiaries, has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Lottotech to deliver new technology to the Mauritius National Lottery. 

As a result of the expanded collaboration, Brightstar will replace each of the Mauritius National Lottery’s retail terminals with its RetailerPro S2 hardware, which also includes the supplier’s OpenRetail terminal application platform. 

The RetailerPro S2 hardware allows for multiple player-facing displays and will help to streamline Mauritius National Lottery operations.

"As Lottotech's exclusive retail lottery technology partner since its inception, Brightstar has continuously pushed boundaries to revolutionize products that benefit and complement the expectations of today's modern lottery," Brightstar COO of International and Italy Operations Marco Tasso said. 

"We are excited to deliver our next-generation terminals and deploy our advanced central system to Lottotech, a natural next step in the evolution of Lottotech's business critical operations."

Lottotech currently operates the Mauritius National Lottery and maintains over 600 retail locations across Mauritius and Rodrigues. 

CEO Moorghen Veeramootoo also spoke on the expanded agreement with Brightstar, having said, "Extending Lottotech's trusted relationship with Brightstar into its third decade through this latest contract underscores our shared commitment to long-term innovation and growth. 

"Enhancing our central system marks a significant milestone for Lottotech, enabling greater agility, flexibility and disaster tolerance as we enhance the player and retailer experiences while positioning our business for continued success."

Brightstar became the first lottery industry supplier to provide funding to the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Organization (IPGGC) on 3 March, which looks to improve player protection and enhance responsible gaming practices.

The IPGGC’s programs include rigorous certification standards, global partnerships and specialised training.
