Brightstar Lottery has announced that it will become the first lottery industry supplier to give funding to the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Organization (IPGGC).
The financial contributions are said to be going directly toward expanding the IPGGC certification programs, which themselves aim to improve player protection within the gambling industry and enhance responsible gaming practices.
Jody Bechtold is the IPGGC Board President and was quoted as saying: “Brightstar's deep understanding of the lottery industry and commitment to responsible gaming will support our mission to ensure that any individual impacted by problem gambling has access to the highest quality of care and support.”
Wendy Montgomery, Brightstar SVP of Branding, Communications and Sustainability, added: “Being the first lottery supplier to financially support the IPGGC is a testament to Brightstar’s commitment to comprehensive responsible gaming processes and practices.”
She went on to add that “responsible gaming is woven into the fabric of our company, and we are proud to back the IPGGC’s mission to increase the availability and certification of responsible gaming professionals.”
The IPGGC’s programs include rigorous certification standards, global partnerships and specialized training, aiming to reduce gambling-related harm while promoting responsible practices across the gaming industry.
Brightstar and Scientific Games recently partnered up in Brazil to launch a new lottery product in the country – the Government of the State of São Paulo has awarded the joint venture a 15-year licence to run lottery operations across the state via retail and digital channels.
Elsewhere, last week also saw the company report a flat revenue figure of $2.51bn for the full year 2025 period, with Q4 2025 revenues rising 3% year-over-year.
