MrQ has unveiled a comprehensive rebrand aimed at differentiating itself within the UK online casino market. The initiative centres on a new tagline, "The Casino You Love to Hate", which the operator says reflects an honest approach to the player-casino relationship.
Founded in 2018, MrQ has operated without venture capital or external shareholders while maintaining profitability since launch. The company positions itself as a challenger brand addressing what it identifies as industry-wide issues including templated user experiences and promotional strategies.
The rebrand features messaging across television, social media, website and radio channels.
According to Chief Marketing Officer Adam Ryan, the campaign acknowledges the inherent nature of gambling outcomes with the phrase "you win some, you lose some", which the company describes as a departure from typical industry messaging.
Ryan went on to state: "The slogan is honest, disruptive and perfectly captures the real relationship players have with iGaming - moments of joy and frustration in equal measure.
"Our tone of voice is direct, but still self-aware, and highly irreverent. We want to be famous for telling the truth, but in a way that players can relate to.
"MrQ isn't afraid to tell it like it is; you win some, you lose some. Making the relaunch an extremely unique and exciting venture."
MrQ's repositioning follows recent executive appointments, including former Monzo Head of Operations Lyndsey Edgar as Chief Operating Officer and Adam Ryan as Chief Marketing Officer.
Earlier this year, MrQ introduced ClearStake's "ID by Bank" verification tool, allowing players to confirm their identity securely through their banking app - part of a growing trend toward digital-first player protection
