Allwyn has appointed Khalid Reede Jones as CEO of Allwyn North America, placing the former Virginia Lottery Executive Director in charge of its regional lottery operations and supplier activity.
Jones will join the business in Chicago on July 6. His remit includes Allwyn’s role as private manager of the Illinois Lottery, its technology and games provision to North American lottery customers and its wider lottery-sector expansion in the US.
The appointment does not extend to PrizePicks, the fantasy sports operator in which Allwyn completed a majority stake acquisition earlier this year.
Indeed, the separation is significant as Allwyn’s North American position now spans two different areas; state lottery management and fantasy sports.
The group has expanded beyond its European lottery base through the Illinois Lottery, digital supply relationships and PrizePicks, while maintaining lottery as its core operating segment.
Jones moves to Allwyn after leading the Virginia Lottery, where the agency has been active across traditional lottery, iLottery and gaming oversight.
Virginia has also been one of the more visible US iLottery jurisdictions, making Jones’ regulatory and digital lottery experience relevant to Allwyn’s North American plans.
Allwyn North America’s largest operating role remains Illinois, where the state uses a private management model for lottery operations. The model gives Allwyn a direct role in lottery operations while the state retains ownership and regulatory oversight.
Allwyn CEO, Robert Chvátal, said: “Khalid brings a rare mix of regulatory insight, commercial experience and a genuine commitment to responsible growth.”
The appointment follows Allwyn’s publication of the 2025 Sustainability Report on employee wellbeing and environmental efforts, which detailed Allwyn’s 2025 sustainability work across player protection, employee wellbeing, emissions and community fundraising.
The report also highlighted WLA Level 4 Responsible Gaming certification, the launch of the Allwyn player protection lab and a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions.
