Prior to the 2026 FIFA World Cup beginning on 11 June, Kaizen Gaming has unveiled exclusive tournament betting data from its Betano platform, offering a glimpse into user behaviour ahead of the global competition.

The overwhelming sentiment discovered by Kaizen was heavy support from residents of each country where Betano is currently active, including 79% of users in Argentina having wagered on the nation to repeat as World Cup victors.

In Brazil, approximately 75% of local bets were placed on the country to win, while Germany and Portugal each saw a 57% share of respective resident support. Coincidentally, 11% of local Brazilian wagers were placed on the country to score the fewest goals in the tournament, third-highest among Haiti, Curaçao, Cape Verde and Iraq.

Across countries such as Bulgaria, Denmark, Peru and Romania, however, most wagers have been placed on Portugal, Spain or France to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

At the time of writing, Cristiano Ronaldo has received a leading 21% share of bets to win MVP of the global competition, trailed by Spain’s Lamine Yamal at 12% and France’s Kylian Mbappé at 10%.

Mbappé maintains the highest share of bets to lead the tournament in goals at 26% of international wagers, with England’s Harry Kane second at 12% and Ronaldo finishing third with an 8% share.

In terms of the highest scoring countries, most wagers have been placed on France (28% of relevant bets), Germany (16%) and Portugal (14%), while Haiti and Curaçao represent the favoured lowest scoring selections at 25% and 19%, respectively.

For Argentinian users, Lionel Messi has received 29% of local wagers to lead the 2026 FIFA World Cup in assists, but only 7% to finish as the top goalscorer.

By comparison, Ronaldo has received 24% of local wagers in Portugal to score the most goals of any player, followed by Bruno Fernandes at 16%.

On 10 March, Kaizen announced the acquisition of GameplAI, an AI-driven sports trading and analytics provider, to strengthen its technology capabilities and enhance the operator's sportsbook offering.

Under the agreement, GameplAI’s proprietary technology was integrated into Kaizen's operations to support sports trading, player markets and performance analytics for Betano.
