Cirsa has expanded its footprint in the Paraguayan market via the newly announced acquisition of online casino operator Slots del Sol.
Indeed, the organization not only operates an online casino platform but also four venues, comprised of two gaming halls and two casinos, in the nation of Paraguay. This transaction also represents Cirsa’s formal entry into the nation’s market and follows a string of similar expansive moves across the LatAm region – including the recent refurbishment of a casino in the Colombian capital, Bogotá.
Commenting on the news was Cirsa CEO, Antonio Hostench, who said: “Slots del Sol has demonstrated exceptional performance, with outstanding capabilities in online operations.
“We are delighted to partner with its founding shareholders and are confident that we will be able to combine our global experience and best-in-class capabilities with their local knowledge and expertise to drive future growth. The transaction will contribute to improving the margins of our online gaming business.
Executive Chairman Joaquim Agut echoed this sentiment, adding: “This acquisition reinforces Cirsa's strategic commitment to accelerating growth in the online gaming space. Paraguay represents an attractive and highly stable regulated market, with strong fundamentals, and Slots del Sol provides us with a leading platform from which to continue expanding our online capabilities in the region.”
This latest development closely follows the operator’s announcement last week that it would be targeting debt refinancing with a €500m ($570.1m) bond by 2032. Further back, Cirsa also reported an 8% year-on-year revenue rise to €623m during the first quarter of 2026.
In Q4 2025, Cirsa also acquired four casinos in the Peruvian market
