William Hill has launched its racing bet builder product in the UK and Ireland, allowing customers to combine multiple selections from the same race into a single wager for the first time.
The new feature enables bettors to create custom bets by selecting various outcomes within a single race, including horses to finish in the top three, head-to-head matchups, exact finishing positions, betting without specific runners and winning distances. The product forms part of the bookmaker's "Racing from a new angle" proposition.
The launch represents William Hill's continued investment in racing products and comes in response to customer demand for more flexible betting options. The operator positions the development as a way to increase engagement with horse racing, a popular betting market in both the UK and Ireland.
The Racing Bet Builder interface is designed to allow users to construct multi-leg wagers within individual races, expanding the range of betting opportunities beyond traditional win, place and each-way options. The system lets customers build combinations based on their predictions for how multiple horses will perform in relation to each other and their finishing positions.
Mark Howarth, Director of Racing at William Hill, said: "Our customers have been asking for more customisable ways to bet on racing, and we're delighted to deliver this fantastic product.
"Racing Bet Builder unlocks a whole new world of possibilities for our bettors and fits perfectly with our 'Racing from a new angle' campaign. Whether you're backing a favourite to win comfortably, predicting how rivals will perform against each other, or combining multiple race outcomes into a single bet, the possibilities are near endless! It's intuitive, fun, and designed to bring fans closer to the sport they love."
The product rollout follows a trend in the betting industry toward bet builder functionality, which has been applied to various sports markets in recent years.
William Hill will exit 13 markets, including 10 in Africa, starting in December
