The Virginia Lottery has released the state’s total casino activity for July 2026, as the five commercial properties which report to the regulator combined to generate $102.5m of revenue, equating to an increase of 20.9%. 

Caesars Virginia led all land-based gaming establishments with just over $36.1m of revenue for the monthly period, representing growth of 3%. Rivers Casino Portsmouth followed with nearly $28.7m of its own casino revenue, having increased 7.1% year-over-year. 

Hard Rock Bristol managed to increase casino revenue 0.4% to $23m, while Live! Virginia produced $13.8m of revenue after debuting its temporary gaming facility in January. 

Also adding to Virginia’s total casino revenue during July was The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, which drove $884,972 of revenue and was originally unveiled in November 2025. Slot machine revenue in Virginia grew 25.4% to $77.8m, while table game revenue increased 8.8% to $24.6m.

Which operators accounted for the most revenue during the monthly period?

The five operators submitted $20.3m in taxes to the state of Virginia, including $13.5m to the Gaming Proceeds Fund, $6.5m to host cities and contributions to the Family and Children’s Trust Fund and Virginia Indigenous People's Trust Fund. 

On July 13, the Virginia Lottery reported the state’s total sports wagering activity for June 2026, as online and retail operators combined to generate $589.2m of handle during the monthly period, representing growth of 6.4%.

Despite the overall increase in sports wagering handle for Virginia operators, adjusted gross revenue (AGR) totaled $55.9m for June, equating to a 2.2% decrease year-over-year. 

Mobile sports betting operations accounted for just over $55.6m of the state’s total AGR for June, equating to a decrease of 3.1%. Retail activity drove $220,411 of revenue but managed to grow from a $327,616 loss witnessed during June 2025.
