The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) has reported the state’s total gaming activity for July 2026, as revenue from land-based, riverboat, sports betting and video gambling all managed to increase year-over-year. 

Representing the state’s only land-based gaming establishment as of July 2026, Caesars New Orleans reported $25.9m for the monthly period, representing an increase of 21.7%. 

Louisiana’s riverboat gambling activity accounted for $159.5m of revenue for July, having increased 5.6%. L’Auberge Lake Charles generated the most revenue of any property, rising 17.1% to $28.6m. 

Golden Nugget Lake Charles and Treasure Chest Casino produced $26.9m and $14.2m of revenue during July, respectively, equating to a decrease of 0.4% but a 6.9% rise for the latter. 

L’Auberge Baton Rouge followed its Lake Charles counterpart with just over $12.7m of revenue but decreased 4.2%, while Margaritaville Casino accounted for nearly $12.9m and increased 17.5%. 

Horseshoe Bossier City and Live! Casino Louisiana produced $11m and $10.9m during July 2026, respectively, as Horseshoe revenue fell 18.9% while Live! Casino reported growth of 15.7%. 

Slots located at Louisiana racetracks increased revenue 2.7% to $27m, led by Delta Downs which accounted for $13.4m and rose 1.2%.

Which verticals accounted for the most revenue?

Evangeline Downs generated $6.2m of slot machine revenue for 7.9% growth year-over-year, while Louisiana Downs and Fair Grounds reported $3.2m and $3.5m, respectively, increasing 1.1% and 0.5%. 

Mobile sports betting in Louisiana drove $33.3m of revenue for the state’s total gaming activity, equating to growth of 10.6%. Retail sports betting produced an additional $1.3m and increased 11% from the prior year period. 

The LGCB also reported just over $68.8m of revenue from VGDs, representing an increase of 6.9%. Truckstops were responsible for $50m of the vertical’s July revenue and rose 6.5%, followed by bars which accounted for $10.3m and grew 11.5%. 

In June, Accel Entertainment expanded its VGD operations across Louisiana with the acquisition of Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino, increasing the property’s VGD count to 60 machines shortly after. 

While financial details of the transaction were not released, Accel grew its VGD count in Louisiana by 8%, as well as leveraged data analytics and promotional systems to further customer engagement, improve operational efficiencies and drive growth over time.
