Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA) has participated in a public event focused on children’s and adolescents’ rights.
Organized by the city’s tax authority and the International Labor Organization (ILO), it forms part of Argentina’s Mes de las Infancias (Children’s Month).
The event, called Compromiso Ciudadano: Acciones por la Niñez y la Adolescencia, was organized by the Administración Gubernamental de Ingresos Públicos (AGIP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) at the Museo de los Niños del Abasto in Buenos Aires.
It brought together public agencies, international organizations and civil society groups to discuss public policies on the protection of children's rights, covering management experience, international standards and territorial initiatives on care, education, participation and prevention.
The opening session included Eva Frontera, Secretary General of LOTBA; Guadalupe Morera, Director General of Revenue at AGIP; and Laura Bonhorte, Deputy General Tutelary Advisor for Labor Matters at the Ministerio Público Tutelar, the city's Child and Adolescent Advocacy Office.
Eugenia Morelli, a member of LOTBA's gaming conduct subdivision, took part in a panel titled Experiencias de gestión (Management Experiences), where she presented the regulator's prevention, awareness and support measures related to responsible gambling, with a focus on protecting minors from online betting.
The event follows other recent LOTBA initiatives on responsible gambling and underage betting prevention. Earlier this month, the regulator presented its digital prevention strategy for minors and its enforcement plan against illegal gambling to the Consejo de Planeamiento Estratégico (CoPE), a body chaired by Buenos Aires City Head of Government Jorge Macri.
LOTBA has previously reported blocking more than 2,390 illegal gambling sites and referring more than 100 influencers to authorities over the promotion of unlicensed betting platforms
