Jeju Dream Tower reported lower casino revenue in August after posting a record-breaking performance in July, although year-to-date growth remained strong as gaming volume continued to increase.
According to preliminary figures released by operator Lotte Tourism Development, net casino revenue totaled KRW46.2bn in August, down 10.4% from July's record KRW51.6bn. Despite the monthly decline, the result was still 7.5% higher than the KRW43bn reported in August 2025.
Table games generated KRW43.5bn during the month, representing an 11.1% decline from July but a 5.7% increase year over year. Slot machine revenue moved in the opposite direction, rising 1.4% month over month to KRW2.7bn and surging 49.5% compared with the same period last year.
Hotel revenue remained broadly stable at KRW8.8bn, edging down 0.1% from July while increasing 4.9% year over year.
For the first eight months of 2026, casino revenue reached KRW363.6bn, an increase of 29.4% compared with the corresponding period last year. Table game revenue rose 29.5% to KRW346.2bn, while slot revenue climbed 27.8% to KRW17.4bn. Hotel revenue for the January-to-August period also improved, increasing 12.0% year over year to KRW58.5bn.
Although monthly casino revenue softened, gaming volume continued to strengthen. Table drop, which measures the amount players exchange for gaming chips, reached a record KRW293.8bn in August. The figure jumped 35.5% from July and was 16.8% higher than a year earlier, while year-to-date table drop increased 13.7% to KRW1.72tn.
The latest results follow Jeju Dream Tower's record July performance, when the resort posted its highest monthly casino revenue on record. August's lower revenue alongside significantly higher table drop suggests gaming hold normalized after an exceptionally strong July, while customer wagering activity continued to expand.
The results also come as South Korea's tourism sector continues to recover, supporting visitation to Jeju Island and helping sustain growth at the country's largest integrated resort.
