Danske Spil increased GGR and profit during the first half of 2026, supported by growth within its licensed operations and lower costs.
Group GGR reached DKK2.59bn ($402.7m), up DKK39m from DKK2.55bn in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit after tax rose to DKK1.04bn from DKK999m, representing an increase of approximately 5%.
Danske Licens Spil provided the main source of growth, with continued progress in online casino and the launch of a new poker platform supporting performance.
Commenting on the results, CEO Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen stated: "We have achieved positive development in the first half of 2026. The lotteries maintain a high level, and at the same time we have made great progress in Danske Licens Spil, where the market is growing and where the Danish poker community has welcomed our new platform. This is particularly satisfactory in a market with fierce international competition and rapidly changing consumer habits.
"We must constantly develop Danske Spil and our products so that we continue to be relevant to the Danes and stand strong as the Danes' responsible gaming company."
Danske Spil H1 2025 vs 2026 financial performance
Lottery GGR remained broadly level year on year. However, Eurojackpot set a sales record when Danish customers purchased 358,000 tickets for a May draw offering the maximum DKK750m prize pool.
The company’s Det Store Påske Lotto Easter product also achieved record sales, supported by a prize structure comprising 25 awards of DKK1m.
During the men’s football World Cup in June, Danske Spil did not show Oddset television advertising between the start and end of matches. The measure formed part of the operator’s responsible-gambling programme, alongside its wider initiatives to encourage lower-risk playing habits.
Chairman Lars Krarup said maintaining a financially strong business was necessary for Danske Spil to continue contributing funds to Danish society while pursuing its objective of being the market’s responsible-gambling leader.
The group maintained its full-year guidance for 2026. It expects GGR of approximately DKK5.2bn to DKK5.3bn and profit after tax between DKK1.95bn and DKK2.05bn.
Danske Spil entered 2026 after reporting record net profit of more than DKK2bn for 2025, despite a modest decline in annual GGR. Its licensed gaming subsidiary is also working with EveryMatrix to migrate casino and bingo operations to a new technology platform.
Danske Spil contributed approximately DKK3.1bn to Danish society through distribution funds, dividends and taxes during 2025
