The Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort in the UAE is on schedule for its March 2027 launch, as confirmed by CEO Abdulla Al Abdouli, reiterating the operator's commitment to completing the project.
Set on a 60-hectare island in the Arabian Gulf, Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated casino resort in the UAE and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The resort will feature over 1,500 hotel rooms, a 20,900 m² casino, 22 restaurants and lounges, a 7,500 m² convention center, and a marina, marking it as a landmark development for the area.
According to company reports, the project has already begun generating employment opportunities, with 78 positions currently open and 80 additional hotel roles filled in Q2.
In an interview with the Khaleej Times, Al Abdouli said: "We are committed to delivering the resort by 2027, and it is on plan. If you look at the site, you will see a lot of work happening. March 2027 is approaching fast.
"The Wynn resort will provide an offering, but supporting it requires residential units and apartments as well. Many businesses will be created there. It will be an integral part of Ras Al Khaimah's economy."
Originally announced in 2022, the resort's timeline was reconfirmed in early Q3 2025, alongside the introduction of Enclave, a 313-suite luxury accommodation tier.
In February 2025, Wynn Resorts secured a $2.4 billion hospitality-related loan, the largest in UAE history, to finance the construction of the resort. The company also obtained the first commercial gaming operator licence in the UAE, enabling the project to move forward within the country's regulated framework.
Over the past year, the UAE gaming sector has expanded rapidly, including the launch of the nation's first regulated lottery, The Game LLC, and the awarding of multiple supplier licences.
Most recently, the SBC 2025 summit featured a panel with UAE regulator CEO Kevin Mullally discussing the market's potential. The resort is projected to attract 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030, reinforcing Ras Al Khaimah as a destination for luxury tourism.
Wynn Al Marjan Island started hiring earlier this month, covering roles from gaming floor staff to senior management
