Alex Dixon has been appointed Senior Advisor of GMA Consulting, a consulting firm for the hospitality, sports, entertainment and iGaming industries, among others.
Dixon comes to the role with over 20 years of industry experience. His career began in 2000 as an analyst for JP Morgan, before he moved into an analyst role with Goldman Sachs in 2003 - a role he held for three years.
In 2008, he joined Caesars Entertainment as Director of Planning and Analysis, getting promoted to Director of Enterprise Effectiveness in 2010 then VP and Executive Associate in 2012. By April 2013 he was VP & Assistant General Manager of Horseshoe Baltimore, where he spent almost four years.
Following this, he joined MGM Resorts as GM of MGM Springfield, a position he held for two years. He was then appointed President and COO of Circus Circus Hotel & Casino, though he stayed there for less than a year. During his tenure, he played a notable part in the $960m development of MGM Springfield and $825m sale of Circus Circus Las Vegas.
Later in his career, he was appointed CEO & Senior Advisor for Resorts World Las Vegas. Again, he was in post for less than a year before joining GMA Consulting. During his time with Resorts World, Dixon secured $155m in financing to redevelop Schmitt Island, an entertainment hub in Eastern Iowa.
On his appointment, GMA Consulting Managing Partner Steve Gallaway said: "Alex brings a rare combination of strategic foresight, operational depth and financial discipline. He's launched and led some of the most recognizable properties in the industry, navigated complex transactions and fostered high-performing teams through times of growth and change. His perspective as both an operator and a financier makes him an invaluable addition to our team."
Dixon himself added: "I'm thrilled to join GMA Consulting and contribute to an organization that's redefining strategic advisory in our industry. Gaming and hospitality are at an inflection point where land-based operators must unlock value from underutilized real estate to drive long term returns. GMA's client-first, evidence-based approach aligns perfectly with my own commitment to operational excellence and responsible growth. Together, we'll help clients navigate complexity and create lasting enterprise and community value."
