The changes come as a new CEO is set to join in December

AB Trav och Galopp (ATG), the Swedish national horse betting operator, has announced the appointment of Jesper Komstadius as Chief Product Officer, and Therese Haeggblom Widmark as Chief Information Officer.

Widmark has been with ATG since 2017, working her way up from leading the company's retail business to head of the IT department. Before joining the company, Widmark held many management and leadership positions.

Komstadius had a similar career path, starting at ATG in 2018, he too climbed his way up from Growth Manager to Head of Product. Previously, he worked in various roles within product, e-commerce, growth and design.

The leadership changes come ahead of the appointment of permanent CEO Anna Romboli in December. With extensive experience in the gaming industry, she has held senior positions at game developer NetEnt. Speaking with the Huddle, Romboli recounted her prior experience with the challenges of the Swedish gaming market.

ATG has been going through a management overhaul ever since reporting a decline in GGR in their 2025 financial report.

In 2025, net gaming revenue for horseracing was down 1%, for sports down 2% and for casinos down 7%. In February 2026, given the downturn, long-serving CEO, Hasse Lord Skarplöth, decided to step down.

Since then, Chairman of the Board Peter Norman has been acting as Interim CEO, whereas CFO Lotta Nilsson was appointed Deputy CEO.

Although the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) claimed that 94% of players engaged with the licensed market in 2025, channelisation rates for legal gambling in Sweden have fallen to 84%.
