The licence is valid until 1 December 2030 and enables Expanse Studios to supply proprietary slot games, crash games and casino content to licensed B2C operators

Expanse Studios has been approved for a software provider licence by Sweden's national gambling authority, Spelinspektionen, allowing the Golden Matrix subsidiary to supply proprietary slot games, crash games and casino content to licensed B2C operators.

"Sweden's licensing framework sets the gold standard for regulated iGaming markets in Europe," Expanse Studios CEO Damjan Stamenkovic said.

"Securing the licence approval from the Swedish Authority once again validated our technical capabilities and commitment to responsible gaming in one of the world's most demanding regulatory environments. This licence opens substantial distribution opportunities with established operators serving a highly engaged, tech-savvy player base."

The licence is valid until 1 December 2030, as Expanse Studios stated the Swedish market generated approximately $2.8bn in total gambling revenue throughout 2024, with iGaming accounting for 64% of the total.

Expanse Studios was also approved for a Class II licence by the National Gambling Office of Romania (ONJN), allowing the supplier to distribute iGaming content without establishing a Romanian entity or paying the country's corporate taxes.

According to Expanse Studios, Romania's market characteristics, such as its "preference for mobile platforms, strong affinity for slot content and established payment infrastructure," mirror the supplier's content portfolio and distribution model.

The newly obtained Swedish gaming licence was said to "complement" Expanse Studios' recent European regulatory approvals, like those confirmed in Romania on 1 December, as well as commercial partnerships formed with operators such as AdmiralBet and MerkurXtip.

Expanse Studios' iGaming portfolio consists of slot titles, crash games and casino content, including titles such as Super Heli, Titan Roulette and Wild Icy Fruits.

The supplier also confirmed iGaming revenue in Sweden reached $1.9bn for full-year 2024, equating to 5% growth year-over-year.
