Brightstar Lottery has signed a two-year contract extension with the New York State Gaming Commission to continue providing lottery technology and services in the state.

Announced on 20 October, the agreement was signed through Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the London-based supplier.

The commission conducts the functions and activities of the New York Lottery. The extension continues Brightstar’s existing supply relationship rather than establishing a contract with a new lottery customer.

Commenting on the development, Scott Gunn, Brightstar’s COO for North America Lottery, stated: "Brightstar is dedicated to continuing to fulfil our contractual obligations through this two-year contract extension and supporting the New York Lottery's successful track record serving New York public schools."

The renewal comes during a year in which the New York Lottery has also refreshed its consumer marketing. Its “Can You Imagine?” campaign, developed with McCann New York, launched in May with English- and Spanish-language advertisements depicting activities winners could pursue.

The lottery contributed $3.6bn to public schools in 2025, providing the funding context referenced in Brightstar’s announcement.

For the supplier, New York adds to a series of US lottery contract extensions announced during 2026. In July, for example, Brightstar secured a Washington Lottery technology extension through June 2036, including 3,700 retailer terminals and 2,300 self-service vending machines.

That followed an Oregon Lottery extension through May 2031 covering a central system upgrade and digital signage.

Separately, Brightstar’s five-year Pan Am licensing agreement covers branded retail and digital lottery games, with travel experiences planned for second-chance promotions.
