Mohegan has introduced a new $30m renovation project for the Mohegan Sun Arena, developed in collaboration with SCI Architects and expected to debut its full range of upgrades by 2027.
"For 25 years, Mohegan Sun Arena has set the standard for live entertainment in the Northeast," Mohegan VP of Sports & Entertainment Joe Soper said.
"After hosting more than 4,250 performances and welcoming nearly 18 million guests since 2001, we're really excited for this next chapter of Mohegan Sun Arena. The goal is simple: to create a more immersive, comfortable and thrilling venue for fans as well as our artists and promoters."
According to Mohegan, phase one of the renovation project has already begun construction, while Mohegan Sun Arena will close operations for two months in mid-December prior to re-opening on February 28.
The upgrades to Mohegan Sun Arena will include a full seating replacement, new lighting, finishes and flooring, modernized concessions and enhancements to the main entrance.
Mohegan Sun President & GM Jeff Hamilton also spoke on the $30m project, having said, "As Mohegan Sun celebrates 30 years of creating memorable experiences and Mohegan Sun Arena marks 25 years of world-class entertainment, this investment reflects our commitment to continually evolving to meet the expectations of guests.
"We're focused on reimagining how guests experience Mohegan Sun at every touchpoint, from live entertainment and dining to accommodations and premium amenities. By investing in the resort and its experiences, we're building on our legacy of innovation and ensuring Mohegan Sun remains a premier destination for years to come."
Once the venue re-opens in February, construction will begin on a new VIP Lounge at Mohegan Sun Arena, featuring a 4,000 sq ft space which can fit up to 150 guests.
Mohegan also unveiled that a new $22m renovation project of Mohegan Sun’s Earth Tower is set to commence in the summer of 2027.
