As part of an official statement released on December 9, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has chosen to part ways with President Cliff Atkinson, although no reasoning was provided for the leadership change at the time of writing.
Lia Rispoli, currently the COO of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, will also hold the title of President following the conclusion of Atkinson's tenure.
"We thank Cliff for his contributions and leadership and wish him the best in his future endeavors," Virgin Hotels Las Vegas said.
"Lia has extensive experience in Las Vegas and has been a key leader in the property's operations since 2011. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas' ownership and executive team are confident in Lia's leadership and the property's ability to continue to provide exceptional guest experiences."
Atkinson originally joined the property as President in July 2023, having also served in executive roles for Luxor Hotel & Casino, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Gramercy Park Hotel.
In December 2024, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) licensed C&C 4455, a joint venture formed between Atkinson and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas CFO Chad Konrad, to operate the property after it concluded a previous agreement with Mohegan.
It has yet to be stated whether Atkinson will continue to serve as C&C 4455 CEO or if the entity will maintain operational control of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
Atkinson also served in a corporate capacity for MGM Resorts International, helping to lead the operator's Hospitality Center of Excellence.
On March 5, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas appointed John Fechik to SVP of Casino Marketing, where he began overseeing all marketing strategies and initiatives for the property, including its new Cherry Rewards program for casino players.
Fechik has worked in the casino and hospitality industry for nearly 20 years, having previously held multiple senior positions at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
