Buenos Aires City Lottery coordinated enforcement actions against illegal gambling operations in the city's southern zone under "Operation Rombo Sur," resulting in one arrest and the seizure of equipment and documentation linked to clandestine lottery activities.
The operation targeted multiple locations operating unauthorized lottery schemes following formal complaints filed by Lotería de la Ciudad. During the raids, authorities confiscated equipment used in the illegal activity, relevant documentation and mobile phones connected to the operations. One individual was detained and placed at the disposal of judicial authorities.
The raids were carried out in coordination with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Gambling (FEJA), which focuses on investigating and dismantling illegal gambling circuits operating outside the city's regulatory framework.
Lotería de la Ciudad said the operation reflects its ongoing efforts to enforce compliance within Buenos Aires' regulated gaming market. The agency continues to pursue actions against unauthorized operators that bypass official oversight and licensing requirements.
The operation forms part of a broader enforcement strategy aimed at preserving the integrity of legal gaming channels and ensuring that gambling activities in the city are conducted within established regulatory standards.
