Alejandro Tengco, CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), has led the opening ceremony of a new military alumni center in Fort Bonifacio, home of the Philippine military.
The center was funded by the Newport World Resorts Foundation with the support of PAGCOR and will house the offices of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Inc (PMAAAI).
As of December 16, the new multi-purpose facility, named the PMAAAI Center for Leadership and Excellence, will be operational, offering leadership and development opportunities to former members of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).
According to Tengco, PAGCOR will continue to support both the PMAAAI and the PMA, and in his speech he promised to support two specific projects in 2026.
These include the construction of the PMA's first 'Warfare Laboratory' at the PMA General Hospital and the reconstruction of the PMA Processing Center.
Tengco remarked: "We at PAGCOR are deeply humbled for the opportunity to play a role in this journey, made possible by the generosity of the Newport World Resorts Foundation."
He was joined at the event by Newport World Resorts Foundation Chairman and President, Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez, who also commended the success of the project, noting that it demonstrated the power of cooperation "when intentions are clear."
The second phase of construction on the new mid-rise facility was launched in June 2025, and it has moved quickly from that point to completion, which was something else noted by the PAGCOR CEO.
Tengco stood alongside Rodriguez, the PMAAAI Chairman and CEO, Admiral Ramon Punzalan, and PMAAAI President, Brigadier General Pedro Agapito, to jointly unveil a golden plaque commemorating the inauguration of this Php600m facility ($10.25m).
