In affiliate marketing, performance metrics often dominate conversations. Yet behind every successful campaign lies something less measurable but equally important: strong relationships. According to Polina Bogatko, Affiliate Manager at N1 Partners, sustainable growth is built on trust, transparent communication, and a long-term commitment to mutual success.
Having entered affiliate marketing from an Account Manager position, Bogatko quickly immersed herself in the industry, dedicating significant time to learning the ecosystem, analysing market trends, and understanding partner needs.
“Within a month, I had grown into the Affiliate Manager role,” she said. “That was when I realised I had found the right industry for me. I enjoy the combination of analytics and communication, the challenge of solving complex problems, and the opportunity to work with different people.”
Bogatko joined N1 Partners attracted by both the company’s reputation and its culture of continuous development.
“What stood out most was the culture,” she explained. “Initiative, expertise, and professional growth are genuinely valued here, and that’s exactly the kind of environment where I wanted to build a long-term career.”
Industry Maturity and the Impact of AI
Reflecting on the most significant changes in affiliate marketing over recent years, Bogatko highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence on advertising platforms and traffic moderation processes.
According to her, major platforms have become increasingly sophisticated in analysing user behaviour, creatives, and campaign structures, making traffic acquisition more complex and resource-intensive than in previous years.
“Today, the biggest winners are those who can analyse data deeply, test hypotheses methodically, and build long-term strategies rather than simply chasing volume,” she noted.
While these developments have created new challenges for affiliates, Bogatko believes they have also contributed to a more mature and professional industry landscape.
Beyond Performance Metrics
For Bogatko, the distinction between a good partnership and a truly strong one lies in shared commitment and mutual investment in results.
“A strong affiliate partnership isn’t just about everything running smoothly,” she said. “It’s about both sides being genuinely invested in achieving a shared outcome.”
She emphasised that effective affiliate managers go beyond routine communication, proactively identifying growth opportunities and helping partners overcome challenges. Equally, successful affiliates understand the value of patience and optimisation rather than constantly switching between offers.
Trust, commitment, and ongoing collaboration, she added, remain the foundations of lasting business relationships.
Lessons in Leadership and Resilience
One of the most influential figures in Bogatko’s professional development has been Vlad Chernov, Deputy Head of Affiliates at N1 Partners.
“He taught me to evaluate traffic objectively, without emotions or bias, and rely on data and logic instead,” she said.
Among the many lessons she credits to her mentor, structured communication and evidence-based decision-making remain central to her management style today.
When asked about the most underrated aspect of an Affiliate Manager’s role, Bogatko pointed to stress management.
“From the outside, the role may seem like a combination of chats and calls, but in reality, you're constantly balancing the interests of partners, products, and internal performance expectations,” she explained.
According to Bogatko, long-term success in affiliate marketing depends not only on technical expertise but also on the ability to remain resilient and focused under pressure.
Building Long-Term Relationships
One of the most common mistakes that prevents partnerships from reaching their full potential, Bogatko believes, is avoiding difficult conversations.
“Any uncertainty or lack of transparency quickly turns into distrust,” she said. “It’s always more effective to address issues openly, even when the conversation is uncomfortable, and work toward a solution together.”
The energy and motivation she derives from working with engaged partners continue to fuel her enthusiasm for the industry.
“We can laugh about industry situations, get frustrated by market challenges together, and then switch straight into problem-solving mode,” she noted. “That combination of genuine human connection and shared focus on results helps me maintain momentum and avoid burnout.”
Looking Ahead
If she were not working in iGaming, Bogatko says she would likely pursue a career in event management or project management—fields that share the same blend of organisation, accountability, and measurable outcomes that she enjoys in affiliate marketing.
Asked to summarise her role without using the words “traffic”, “affiliate”, or “conversion”, she described it simply as “turning chaos into a structured system”
