The Spanish Government has approved a draft law on AI governance, introducing new rules on systems that influence behaviour, including within gambling.
The regulator raised concerns over proposals to include cash equivalents such as chips, tokens and credits within the definition of taxable deposits, as well as plans to tax winnings from prize competitions and short-term lotteries.
The campaign focuses on how sports betting can start out small, but snowball into having major consequences.
Last year, PlayCity fined the influencer UAH 4.8m ($108,480) for illegal gambling advertising found on her social media page, and she failed to overturn the penalty in legal proceedings.
