Seneca Resorts & Casinos has appointed Lon O’Donnell as its new SVP of Gaming Operations, where he will develop and implement gaming strategy across the operator’s three New York commercial properties.

“Our three Seneca Resorts & Casinos properties are built on the shared foundation of guest experience, guest service and excitement. The excitement and energy of our gaming floors are central to that,” Seneca Resorts & Casinos COO Kimberlee Dunlop said.

“Lon understands how to build comprehensive gaming strategies across multiple properties that shape and enhance the experience our guests will enjoy, support our service standards and elevate our vision for how we want to continue to grow and evolve.”

Prior to joining Seneca Resorts & Casinos, O’Donnell served as VP and GM of Bally’s Casino Black Hawk in Colorado and VP of Gaming Strategy for Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Minnesota.

Speaking on his new appointment, O’Donnell said: “The operations that Seneca Resorts & Casino has established since 2002 are all very impressive.

“Each property is unique and has its own distinct personality that speak to guests in different ways. I’m excited to work with our team to build on their successful track record and to further establish Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino as premier destinations for gaming excitement.”

O’Donnell also served as Director of Gaming Operations for Aruze Gaming from February 2021 to May 2022, as well as in the same position with Scientific Games between August 2019 and November 2020.

His focus with Seneca Resorts & Casinos will include developing an enterprise-wide slot floor strategy, including game mix, placement and themes, and working with leaders across all gaming operations areas to execute strategic plans and drive successful results.

On June 29, Seneca Resorts & Casinos expanded upon its collaboration with the Buffalo Bills NFL franchise by signing on as a Founding Partner of the new Highmark Stadium, as well as having the team acknowledge its development on ancestral lands.

Highmark Stadium will make its debut ahead of the 2026-2027 NFL season, while the new multi-year deal extends the operator’s standing as the Official Casino of the Buffalo Bills.
