A new slot development studio, Red Papaya, has formally entered the market with backing from Microgaming, adding to a growing wave of new studio launches supported by established platform providers.
The studio has been founded by a team with prior experience in slot development and is set to release its first title, Kong's Jungle Tower, in the coming weeks.
According to the supplier, the game will mark the start of a wider content pipeline that will be rolled out on a regular basis.
Red Papaya's initial portfolio is expected to focus on familiar slot mechanics commonly used across regulated online casino markets, including Hold & Win-style features, Bonus Buy options, jackpots and variable reel formats.
The studio said these mechanics will be combined with high production values, including animated visuals and narrative-driven themes.
The backing of Microgaming provides Red Papaya with access to established distribution infrastructure, allowing the studio's content to be deployed across existing operator networks.
Microgaming has historically supported the launch of new development studios as part of its wider content and platform strategy.
Madelein Ozok, Head of Studio at Red Papaya, said: "Our team brings decades of industry experience and the support from Microgaming has been invaluable."
Ozok added that the studio's roadmap includes multiple titles already in development, following a structured release schedule.
The launch of Red Papaya comes as suppliers increasingly adopt multi-studio models, creating new brands to target different player segments and creative directions while leveraging shared technology and distribution channels.
This approach has become more common among large suppliers seeking to scale content output while managing risk across portfolios.
Red Papaya's launch follows a series of similar studio debuts across the sector. In October, Evolution introduced Sneaky Slots, a new brand operating under its RNG division and utilising mechanics developed by Nolimit City.
That launch highlighted how established suppliers are using internal studios to diversify creative output while maintaining centralised distribution and compliance frameworks.
Microgaming has a long track record of supporting third-party studios through its aggregation and distribution platforms, a model that has been widely adopted across the online casino supply chain
