SiGMA's flagship European event takes a geographical turn in 2025, relocating from its traditional Malta base to Rome for the first time.
Running from 3-6 November at the Fiera Roma, SiGMA Central Europe 2025 positions itself at the centre of what organisers describe as Europe's largest untapped online gambling market.
The move reflects Italy's gaming industry trajectory. With total gambling revenue reaching €16bn ($18.5bn) but only 25% operating online, the country presents considerable growth potential as player preferences shift digital.
Industry projections suggest Italy's online gaming sector will reach €3.78bn by 2029, supported by regulatory frameworks and increasing digital adoption.
The event itself promises substantial scale: over 30,000 delegates, 1,000 sponsors and exhibitors, and 550 speakers across four conference stages.
The programme spans regulatory compliance, affiliate marketing, payments and fintech, AI integration, and responsible gaming.
Notable speakers include Hon. Federico Freni, Undersecretary of State at Italy's Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Roberta Metsela, President of the European Parliament.
Beyond conference sessions, the schedule features industry awards ceremonies, networking dinners at historic Roman venues and an exclusive Plácido Domingo concert at the Auditorium della Conciliazione.
Additionally, two startup pitch competitions will offer emerging companies exposure to investors, while specialist events address topics such as land-based gaming innovation, sports technology and Web3 gaming economics.
The regulatory programme examines Italy's new licensing framework, including the €7m entry fee and revised compliance requirements.
The Rome venue itself offers logistical advantages, with 100,000 square metres of exhibition space, direct train connections from Fiumicino Airport and proximity to Italy's growing venture capital ecosystem - which saw investment surge to €2.3bn in 2022.
The closing night celebration at Opus Club will feature electronic music producer Stephan Bodzin
