A new report from Svenska Spel details a successful 2025 for the operator, with record winnings paid out to players and record turnovers achieved at the same time.
Overall the state-owned company has paid out to players almost double the amount it did in 2024, with a total value of SEK 2.96bn ($320m) representing the highest total prize value it has ever paid out.
Daniel Arnkvist, Comms Officer at Svenska Spel noted the significance of this figure, saying: “2025 stands out as one of the most significant prize years in Svenska Spel’s history.
He added: "The combination of record-high total prize value and more million wins clearly shows the year’s scope.”
As far as the company's profitability goes, the figures around Stryktipset make for the most illuminating reading.
Stryktipset is a popular football predictions product in Sweden that has been running in some form since 1934, 63 years before the establishment of Svenska Spel.
Lasst year on its 90th anniversary, it broke all turnover records – this year, turnover exceeded SEK 50m and broke that record once more, with Elisa Kolthoff, Comms Officer at Svenska Spel Sport and Casino, saying: “From a profit and winner perspective, 2025 was a very strong year. That a game like Stryktipset, with over 90 years of experience, still challenges players is impressive.”
More new products this year are also noted in the report, with a new TV game, Lyckoplatsen, taking place on TV4 Nyhetsmorgon and drawing widespread player engagement.
According to the statement, 2025 was also a very profitable year for Lotto, though precise sales figures are not detailed.
The biggest gaming win in Swedish history was paid out in March 2025 via the Eurojackpot – the prize was just over SEK 1.25bn ($140m)
