Booming Games, a Malta-based games provider, has appointed Luke Sammut as its CFO.
Sammut has been promoted from his previous position with the company as Director of Finance and Accounting.
The boost in profile for him follows something of a recruitment drive in the past month, Booming Games having internally recruited a new COO and Chief of Staff.
In fact, the CFO role that Sammut is stepping into is a newly created one and reflects the manner in which the supplier is hoping to retain talent and mature its operational strategy.
Sammut has been with the company for over eight years in a multitude of different senior finance roles.
He started off with Booming Games as a Senior Financial and Management Accountant back in September 2017 before notching a steady sequence of promotions.
On his latest role he’s commented: “I am proud to be taking up the position of CFO, helping to shape the next phase of our financial strategy, at such a pivotal moment for the business. With clear direction from a strong leadership team, Booming Games is well placed to build on its strong financial foundations and seize the opportunity to further cement its reputation for market-leading innovation.”
The promotion and other recent hires have played a part in the supplier surpassing a total company headcount of 200.
Alongside this uptick in numbers, the business has stated its objective of increasing the cadence of its game releases in 2026.
Max Niehusen, the Founder of Booming Games has himself said: “I look forward to continuing working closely with him as we look to break new ground this year. As CFO, Luke’s experience will be critical as we expand our operations, with the aim of being regulated in every major market within the next five years.
With this expansion in mind, Sammut is beginning his new role with immediate effect.
