Scientific Games has appointed Ovie Doro as SVP of Data, Analytics and AI, expanding executive oversight of analytics and machine learning across its global lottery operations.
Doro will oversee the continued development of SG Analytics, the supplier’s enterprise analytics group that supports decision-making through business intelligence, data modelling and performance analysis.
Scientific Games said the role will focus on translating data into action across market and channel intelligence, industry and competitive insights, ROI and growth modelling, as well as data engineering, data science and machine learning, supported by standardised reporting and visualisation.
Pat McHugh, Scientific Games CEO, said: “Advanced analytics is critical to how Scientific Games supports our lottery customers and drives innovation and performance for sustainable growth.”
Carrie Galvin, Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer, said: “Doro’s appointment strengthens our ability to translate data into action and value for our customers.”
Doro brings more than a decade of experience building analytics and machine learning capabilities in consumer and e-commerce settings.
Most recently, he served as Senior Global Director of Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering at AB InBev, where Scientific Games said he helped develop an AI strategy for the group’s B2B e-commerce platform.
He has also held senior data science leadership roles at Walmart and Jet.com, where he led teams working on customer analytics, experimentation platforms, personalisation and lifecycle modelling.
Scientific Games said Doro will work closely with leaders across product, technology, sales and operations. The supplier added that the focus includes analytics-led product growth, personalisation, experimentation and cross-channel optimisation designed to connect retail and digital play.
Doro holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
