Global Gaming Women has launched a series of initiatives throughout 2026 to mark its 10th anniversary, highlighting the organisation’s impact on professional development and leadership opportunities for women in the gaming industry.

Founded as an independent charitable organisation in 2016, Global Gaming Women (GGW) focuses on supporting career growth in the sector through education, mentorship and networking programmes.

The group currently has more than 9,000 members across 70 countries and has outlined a goal of reaching 10,000 members by the end of 2026. Membership is open to individuals across the global gaming sector and is free to join.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, GGW has introduced a range of commemorative activities. These include a new content series titled “Milestones that Moved Us,” which will feature video interviews highlighting key moments and contributors from the organisation’s history. The videos will be distributed through GGW’s digital channels.

The organisation has also unveiled a commemorative anniversary logo and launched a range of branded merchandise to mark the milestone year.

Additional programming is planned through GGW’s Fair Game podcast and during industry events such as Global Gaming Expo, where GGW intends to host activations focused on its mission and community.

In 2025, GGW reported providing more than $840,000 in educational scholarships and delivering 14 in-person training programmes globally. The organisation also expanded its mentorship initiatives, including its Lean In Circles and OneUpOneDown programmes, which connect industry professionals for peer support and career development.

Commenting on the anniversary milestone, Siobhan Lane, GGW President and Board Chair stated: "For the last ten years, Global Gaming Women has positively influenced the lives and careers of thousands of women in the gaming industry through education, mentorship and training.

“As we celebrate GGW's accomplishments and journey to its current state, we are laser-focused on scaling our reach and impact while developing the next generation of women in gaming.

“As a volunteer-driven organization, GGW sincerely thanks the thousands of members and allies who have given their time and talent over the years in support of GGW's mission and values, and a special thanks to our sponsors for their financial support, without which, none of this would be possible."

The anniversary celebration comes shortly after a period of leadership transition at GGW. The aforementioned Siobhan Lane, who also serves as Group CEO of Light & Wonder's Gaming division, took over as President and Board Chair at the start of 2026, succeeding Lauren Bates. New appointments were also made at the VP level, with Brandi Ellis stepping into the First VP role and Adriana Kasunic appointed as Second VP.
